Hi there!
For this fortnight’s Mojo Monday Sketch 514, I wanted to use the Tropcial Chic designer series paper. I love the colours in the pack and chose two different patterns and colours to add to the background of the card.
I used the largest stitched circle in whisper white and then punched a starburst in blushing bride cardstock and stamped ‘you are the greatest’ from the Tropical Chic stamp set using the blushing bride ink.
I decided to add some of the die cut leaves from the tropical dies using the shaded spruce and granny apple green card.
Adhering the leaves to the back of the stitched circle but then adding some dimensionals to the leaves and circle, made the leaves stand out as well as the circle.
The background of the card was looking a little bare and although I would normally leave it, I wanted to add some more, so I stamped the flower from the Tropical Chic stamp set on to the card randomly in blushing bride ink, however two of the flowers didn’t stamp properly but have a kind of bubbly effect!
I also added some rhinestones to the starburst and used the wink of stella ink to the leaves.
It wasn’t until after I had put the card together that I realised just how much the leaves merged into the patterned paper behind and would definitely change this if I made the card again, however as the leaves aren’t flat to the card helps to differentiate them.
This is the sketch for this week:
Be sure to check out the other cards made with the sketch.
Such a lovely card. So glad you could join me for Mojo Monday!
